Shed Defender

Tyson Walters came up with the idea for the Shed Defender in 2011 because Harley, his St. Bernard, was shedding everywhere, leaving tumble weeds of hair in his car and all over his apartment. After trying virtually every product on the market and still being unable to contain or control the hair, he decided to go in a completely different direction. He developed a onesie to completely cover Harley’s coat in order to safely and effectively trap his shedding hair inside, and Tyson’s mother helped him sew the first prototype. Wearing the Shed Defender around town, Harley attracted a lot of attention from people interested in getting a Shed Defender for their hairy hound. The positive feedback and frequent requests encouraged Tyson to make his unique creation available to pet lovers everyone in 2012.

Headquartered in Marina Del Rey, California, Shed Defender is a family business committed to supporting animals in need by donating a portion of sales to deserving animal shelters, rescue centers and adoption organizations.
