About Us

The Douglas County Humane Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on enriching the lives of our community members and their companion animals through educational programs, services, and community engagement. In support of our mission, our work will always center on compassionate care for all animals. While we are not a shelter, nor do we operate one, we collaborate with local animal shelters and licensed animal rescue organizations to save homeless animals and provide the care they need to live healthy lives.
