ECAH stands for Extended Circle Animal Haven, the original name of our rescue group. Extended Circle Animal Haven was founded in 2003 to provide a no-kill rescue group in the Tallahassee, Florida, area. The extended circle reference is from a quote of Dr. Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965), a humanitarian and Noble Peace Price Winner: “Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all livings things, man will not himself achieve peace.” As a result of a reorganization of the group, the name was changed in 2005 to ECAH Animals, Inc.
