About Us
Founded in 1931, HSSC has a longstanding tradition of offering hope to animals in need of a second chance. Our mission is to ensure that every animal receives protection, compassion, love and care. We accomplish this through comprehensive and integrated programs at both our Santa Rosa and Healdsburg locations. The animals we care for come to us through myriad channels: as strays, through our transfer partnerships which support overburdened shelters throughout Sonoma County and beyond, and, in some cases, owner surrenders when changing life circumstances make it impossible for families to care for their pets.
