About Us
St. Louis Avian Rescue (STAR) helps find new homes for these companion birds who often outlive their owners. We are an all-volunteer rescue and adoption group formed in 2002, to help homeless birds in the St. Louis metropolitan area. We are a 501(c)(3) charity, so all donations to our organization are tax deductible. Our volunteers foster a variety of bird species, with the eventual goal of placement in forever homes. We care deeply for our avian friends, so our adoption process ensures both bird and new owner are compatible.
